Need to transport Thunderbolt display cross-country
All, I am moving cross-country in August and need to transport my Thunderbolt display. I don't have the original shipping box, as I used that to ship my old iMac to someone else.
Is it safe to bundle up in padding and move in my car, or will the car vibrations over a 4-day long road trip possibly mess up the display? I've had problems moving iMacs before (display failed after moving in car).
I've searched online for transport cases, but spending $700 on a 1-time use case isn't feasible. I've considered letting the movers move it, but I need the display as soon as I arrive for work (I'll be working remotely for my current company.)
Any thoughts?
