Question about disc free space...

Hello.

I'm on a MacBook Air - 2014 Model with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 installed.

I wanted to gain more free space by deleting some files that I don't need and naturally are consuming too much free space.

While doing that, I went to

On it there's a 128 Gb SSD. Naturally, I went to 'About This Mac' and checked how much space my applications, photos, movies, etc. were consuming!

I use lot's of Adobe's software and naturally have a bunch od stuff from third party developers installed to.

When I check how much space my 'Applications' folder has, I get the following value: 22,03 Gbs!

BUT, on the 'storage' tab, via 'About my Mac' I get the value: 65,57 Gbs.

How is this possible? I guess my applications & OS X & iLife Suite & iWork suite take lot's of space... but is it possible that some of my deleted apps are still consuming space?! I mean, perhaps folders that weren't erased are still in my SSD...

What is the best t way to erase every 'junk' file, without having to erase my SSD?! Is there any App available that would let me check exactly what files are consuming so much space on my SSD?!

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide me with...

All the best.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
