I cannot pair my i phone to my car with bluetooth because I cannot enter the selfchosen pass key into the iPhone

My hands free telephone system in my BMW 5 Touring cannot be paired wth bluetooth to my iPhone 5s,since introduction of my self chosen pass key cannot be entered, the key board does;t come up to enter it.

What kind of wrong setting is causing this problem.Is it because of the newest update?
