Do you know how much it would cost to get a screen replaced? I have like 0 money right now. I know I can get one from China for $200, but it's probably junk...

It will likely cost around $1000, I think.
Yeah, that's more than the laptop is worth now. I can't work due to medical reasons and I am stuck. Apple doesn't even know about this issue.

The best way to find out the replacement price is to visit your local Apple Store. The specialists there will surely tell you the exact price.
Even if the screen from China turns out to be OK, you will have to pay someone to install it on your MacBook.
I can replace the LCD myself. I've taken my old macbooks apart all the time. I replaced a logic board in one of them. You just have to heat up the bezel all around and pry it off. Probably wouldn't take more than 15 minutes...

I know how much a genuine screen costs. It's around 500$. That's a lot of cash considering the government gives me $1000 a month...
I don't even care anymore. Maybe I'll just sell it AS IS or something and get an 2008.
