Help with Sync'ing Calender App on MacBook

I have OSX 10.10.3. I am unable to sync my computer's Calendar App with my iCloud account. Nothing happens when I check the box in system preferences. It asks if I want to merge with iCloud, but then goes back to unchecked box. This is only a problem on my MacBook.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
