This post dovetails my earlier post regarding what seems to be a faulty trackpad on my 2007 MacBook Pro. If the problem is indeed a defective trackpad, would it be possible to use a wireless or USB trackpad with this machine?

Oglethorpe: This would work nicely. I know that my MacBook Pro is Bluetooth-enabled. I just wasn't sure if a Bluetooth trackpad would work with the MBP.
Now I just have to be certain that the built-in trackpad on the MBP is indeed faulty.

If you make an Apple store genius bar appointment, you can have your trackpad diagnosed for FREE and try out the external trackpad as well..

Unfortunately, the nearest Apple Store is about 200 miles from here. However, there is an Apple reseller here in town that I can consult.
