I had a word document open which I tried to save and close. After five minutes of waiting for the multicoloured circle to finish, I tried to force quit Word. However, when I reopened word, the document automatically reopened and the circle started again. I cannot open any of my word docs now. Even when I restart the Mac and try to open word, the same document appears.
Can anyone help me please?

Try launching Word with the Shift key held down. If that doesn’t work, put the document on an external drive(or delete it completely if desired), remove it from the internal one, and then launch Word.

You should also contact Microsoft for Mac Support and/or post in their forums. It's where the Mac users who use Microsoft products hang out.
