When I send an imessage, the recipient sees my facebook name

Recent convert from android to iphone (5s, ios 8.3) here. I have a distinctive Facebook name, which is different from my actual name. When I send an imessage, the recipient sees the sender as my Facebook name, as opposed to my actual name. I can't see a way of changing, or editing this.

This Facebook name is tied to one of the 4 email addresses I have on my iphone.

Any chance you could help?

I was having a similar issue. This was the way I fixed it:

1. go to settings > messages

2. Click ' Send & Receive' and uncheck the option listed.

3. go back to messages and turn off your iMessages.

4. Turn iMessages back on check the Send& Receive. It reset to my phone number and it was checked (leave it checked).

Hope this helps.
