4th gen iPod touch goes back to home screen when trying to use certain websites. Have already reset and restored. Any help?

Restore to factory settings/new iPod if you have not already.
Just what website?
Could be a problem with those websites.
Have yoo tried another browser? Like Google Chrome?
I have restored. Pinterest and Ebay are the sites I have noticed so far. I can't get Chrome because you have to have a higher version of iOs which isn't available for 4th gen ipod. 😟
You should be able to get the last compatible version of Chrome by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
Apparently there is not a compatible version of Chrome. I did try the "Dolphin" browser and still had the problem.
It's weird because Facebook and some other websites work fine, but it has kept dropping me off of Pinterest for at least 3 weeks now.
Could be just a problem with the version of Safari that is on the 4G iPod.
have yo tried the Opera browser?
It wont let me get Opera either, but had the same problem on "Dolphin" so not sure its the browser.
Try when connected to another network. Maybe it is being blocked by the network
