Did the 1.0.1 Watch update fix the tattooed skin problem?

I have full sleeve tattoos on both arms and I was very upset that this was affecting the functionality of the Watch. (My mom always told me that I would regret the tattoos, but I never imagined something like this being the reason for some regret). When I first got the watch, I tried it on my left wrist, but I have pretty dark ink there and every time I dropped my arm then brought it back up, I had to put in my password. I switched to my right wrist where the ink is not so intense and this seemed to help the problem. After updating to 1.0.1, I tried going back to my left wrist which feels much more natural for me and the watch has worked perfectly all day!! Does anyone know if Apple addressed this problem, or is this just a crazy coincidence?
