On iPhone message notification red circle remains on after 2 particular messages, new messages increases number but the 2 stays. How to cancel the notification?

IiPhone message notification will not disappear once message read

What troubleshooting have you tried? User troubleshooting includes Restart, Reset, Restore from Backup, Restore as New.
