Q: How to get a custom recorded sound alert from System 7.5 ?

Hi,

I have a Macintosh Color Classic with System 7.5 It boots up fine and has AppleShare to OS 9 mac. I want to get a custom sound alert recorded in Sound Control Panel from that Control Panel into a separate file so I can play it elsewhere. Any advise from old hands will be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Pavel.

You may have to boot the computer from the Disk Tools floppy disk, so that you can open the Classic's OS 7.5 System Folder's System Suitcase.  That's where the alert sounds are stored.  New/custom sounds are added by dropping their sound files onto the System Suitcase's icon.

    Hi Jeff,

Yes it worked like you suggested! It is a magic of everything: Apple software and hardware, networking, Internet and a helpful old hands here! It is priceless I guess. Thank you Jeff!
