I've had this problem and contacted Apple Care. The suggested solution, which seems to work.
1. Quit all apps (don't just close - quit) including Safari.
2. Locate the "Library" folder on your hard disc root
3. Locate "Caches" folder in Library
4. Delete Caches folder
5. Empty Trash - various files will pop up as being "in use" - click on Continue until the trash is empty.
6. Restart the computer.
Job done.
