Square techno inc scam..

While surfing the Internet on my iPad a message appeared telling me there was a security threat, and to contact apple support center at 800-656-8547 Immediately. When I contacted the number a nice Indian gentleman asked me to log onto my PC so he could trouble shoot for my iPad. My computer is Microsoft and I was skeptical that he would be able to access my APPLE iPad but he reassured me that he could help. Once I logged onto my computer I was asked to type in www.support.me. Once loaded I entered a 6 digit code that allow this gentleman access to my computer where he took over the mouse. He began running "tests" to target the problem my Ipad was having. A couple minutes later, after watching what appeared to be a scan he told me that I had this awful virus called a koobface, he explained that it takes over my entire network and any device that had ever been connected to it. He then told me that the virus is so bad that it is above Apple tech support and that I had some options. The first option was to drive 154 miles out of my way to see a specialist in hacking, or he could transfer me to Square Techno inc whom could do all of the assisting online... Only down fall was that it would cost me $199.99. Something rubbed me wrong about the whole thing and I told the gentleman that I would take care of the issue later. He pushed continuously so at that point I figured it was all a scam. Immediately hung up the call, disconnected my internet and turned both my IPad, and iPhone on airplane mode. I also went back and shut down my computer... I am so nervous they have infected my computer that I don't even want to turn it back on... Can these people obtain access to my phone Or iPad? Has anyone else experienced this? Please help
