Jun 4, 2015 9:28 AM in response to The hatterby jojo8888,Thanks for the sharing!
Would you advise purchasing the above eBay link? it is to replace the current 256gb original ssd in the mac pro (purchased in dec2014).
Also, these SSDs selling on eBay doesn't seem to come included with the "black heat sink" attached? What is the main function of apple's heat sink in the SSDs? is it crucial to have them?

Jun 4, 2015 10:11 AM in response to jojo8888by The hatter,I don't have nMP or Apple 1TB unit but you can find in that thread some discussion of temps and heat sink.
People are using them in classic Mac Pro with adapters, again w/o heat sink usually, there is a $50 adapter w/ one while I use Lycom adapters that does not.
I would say that you have to look on ebay for prices and when avaiable.
There are some sellers that have a few from time to time of the Apple/Samsung units.
Links in that thread.
I have a link but hard to post here! the forum gives me an error but I got the links from that thread.
A 768GB Apple unit for $599 was listed at one time that I was watching. MZ-KPU1T0T/0A6
1TB MZ-KPU1T0T/0A6 $686 ebay listing

Jun 4, 2015 10:25 AM in response to The hatterby jojo8888,Yup i have been looking through eBay and Amazon and found many sellers selling these Apple-samsung genuine ssds 1tb with various kinds of revisions models numbers and part numbers.
these part numbers i cant seem to check them online if they are really correct?
also, i thought apple doesnt sell its SSDs, where do these so-called genuine Apple SSDs come from? I am worried about whether are they RMA stocks rejected by the factory during testing due to minor reject

Jun 4, 2015 10:30 AM in response to The hatterby jojo8888,These are some of the sellers I found on eBay selling the 1TB Apple-Samsung SSDs:
(1) http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/171808350986?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m 1438.l2649
(2) http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/151701291455?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m 1438.l2649
(3) http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/281711424100?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m 1438.l2649
I found it very strange why the model numbers and part numbers do not seem to tally amongst the sellers:
As per photos from (1), "MZ-KPV1T00/0A4 655-1860F (Date 2015.02)"
(2) and (3) show "MZ-KPV1T00/0A3 655-1860D (Date 2015.03)"
According to my understanding, these are revision numbers but why is a Feb version having a much newer revision than the March version? -
Jun 4, 2015 11:42 AM in response to jojo8888by The hatter,Search MacRumors thread I think is best, some have boughrt them.
Samsung made more than just for Apple alone, "Apple" I see as short hand for similar part sku and fully seen in Mac Pro as "Apple" and TRIM support automatically.
Guess cannot assume a letter means chronological sequence.
