Can't get any sound from garageband on just one of my projects

Hey Guys, I've been searching for about 3 hours now for a solution to this but to no avail so I thought I'd have to start a thread of my own.

I've been working a while now on a song in GB and was getting close to finishing it when suddenly I was no longer able to get any sound from my Master track, I can see the bars from all my other tracks moving as the song goes on but I get no sound at all from my speakers. I shared the song to my iTunes thining it may have just been garage band, but the song still plays with no sound. All sound on my other apps work fine also.

I've Check preferences and made sure my MIDIs and all were on the correct I/O. I'm Using an Apogee Jam for an input but I'm not sure that's what would be making the problem. I've also Deleted the two Files from Library>Preferences. Uninstalled/reinstalled, Rebooted, tried the same project on another User and I still can't get a result.

Any other project I open on my Garageband works fine, Sound and all. It's just of course the one I've been working on for the longest that decides not to work!

Any help from you guys would be so much appreciated and Thank you so much in advance!

I'm also on Yosemite 10.0.2

Couldn't get the drop down box to work for some reason when I was making this. Maybe I've just go bad luck!

Besides encoutering a serious bug, there are few things that can cause "loosing" the sound:

Is the Master Volume turned down? That's the Slider in the Control Bar on top

Is the Master Track Slider turned down, or any Automation that causes that? Make the Master Track visible with the Key Command Shift+Command+M

Check the Effects in the Master Smart Controls. For examples, if the volume on the EQ is turned on.

Check any other Plugin on the Master Track that might cause level reduction

Did you change the Audio Interface in the GB Preferences to the Built-In sound, to make sure that your audio interface doesn't cause the problem.

Matt, hey-

I see you posted your question more than a month ago.

I have the same question. An hour ago I posted about playing my newly recorded tracks back and the software has moved them totally off the beat.

I just put them back on the beat by hand, manually, out of frustration -

And now - no sound! Sound on iTunes, on YouTube - the sound works - but not on Garageband.

Sigh

Sigh again and again and again...way more time trouble shooting than making music. It's pretty sucky. But at least I know someone else is going through the same thing.

I've come to the conclusion that these boards aren't monitored and not the place to post when you've been trying for three hours to fix a simple problem.

The best thing to do is go your local Apple store and find someone who is really proficient in Garageband. They'll solve your problem 1,2,3.

These boards are a waste of time.

I'm shutting Garageband now so I don't get any more aggravated. I'll drive to Apple tonight - 30 miles round trip - and they'll fix my problem.

Until the next one, which, judging from my experience, should be tomorrow.

Hey,

I had/have the same problem. None of Edgar's solutions were my problem. They will come in handy one day I'm sure. Thank you. In fact, I still can't figure out what happened. What I did figure out was that I can copy and paste the tracks in another project. This worked BUT it's tedious and time consuming because you have to move every track where it was in the song and switch back and forth between the two projects.
