I have 3.5GB worth of files using DVD studio pro and then when I go to build and format, it jumps up to 6.9 GB which is way too big to fit on a DVD. The files DVD Studio Pro is trying to encode end up being huge. How do I correct this?

What is the duration of the video(s) you want to place on DVD?
Are you adding anything to the video like extensive menus, slideshows, etc.?

Are you using dvdsp to compress the footage? Much better to use compressor which creates the m2v (video) and ac3 (audio) files which you can the import in to dvdsp. Use the appropriate preset in compressor and away you go.
