Q: iphoto wont display photos on my camera ?

Morning all,

I havent used iPhoto for a while, but on connecting my Canon 30D today, to upload some recent photos, altho iPhoto sees the camera, it wont seemingly load the photos on the Memory Card, although it hasnt ever been an issue before........

Im running OS 10.6.8, and iPhoto is 7.1.5, and it seems that 'updating' iPhoto any more simply means installing Yosemite or something, which I dont really want to do, my iMac works just fine with Snow Leopard.

I've seen some pretty scathing comments about the new Photo app anyway, so dont want to go down that route.

But, have I got something conflicting presently to stop my photos been 'seen' on Camera Card ?

Any ideas anyone ?

Thx

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Can you access the material with Image Capture (in the Applications Folder)?

Be sure that your camera is set to the correct mode - PTP or Mass Storage as appropriate.

What happens with a USB Card Reader?

    Hi Terence,

No - Image Capture wont work either.

Not quite sure how to check Storage setting on Cam, - so long since I used it !

Dont have a Card Reader, so may have to pop into somewhere to see if they can transfer from Mem Card to Disc for me.

Perhaps a fault with Card ?  - although Photos clearly show on Camera.....

The card might require reformatting - it's not unusual but do get the photos off it first. As for the camera settings, well it's in the menus somewhere...
