5th gen iPod shows in iTunes but won't sync

Hi,


I cannot sync the music from my PC with Windows 8 to my 5th gen. iPod.


The iPod shows up in iTunes but when I click sync it says "complete" but nothing has synced to my iPod.


I did I full factory restore on the iPod and have tried restarting the iPod, iTunes, and my computer.


My computer is authorized.


I also made sure to un-check the "manually manage" and "disk use" options.


Any suggestions?
