Q: iPhoto library export to Photos

My specs:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012)

OS X10.10.4

2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

Photos Version 1.0.1 (215.27.0)

iPhoto Library 9.6 (size 23.41 GB)

So, that is my problem:
While trying to export my iPhoto library to Photos app I faced a problem - the exporting process stops every time at 30%. And in Activity Monitor the process called "Photo Library Migration Utility" becomes "Not Responding", but only several minutes later (about 10-15 min).
btw I haven't tried somehow to fix it because of lack of time.

Firstly, I though it is because of small amount of free space on my drive, but after cleaning it up nothing has changed.

Anyone else have the same problem? If yes, then how you've fixed it?
Nevertheless, thank you anyway for any help you could provide.

1 - there in no exporting involved - you simply hold down the option key while launching Photos and choose the iPhoto library to open and migrate

2 - how much free space do you have on your hard drive?

The migration process may be hanging because of some problem in the iPhoto Library. To fix that, you need to use iPhoto's 'first aid' tools. However, if you have iPhoto version 9.6, you will need to update it to version 9.6.1 because earlier versions won't work with OS X 10.10.3. See the user tip, Get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS X 10.10.3 by Barney-15E for more info about how to get the update. For more info about repairing iPhoto Libraries, see iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library - Apple Support.

You may also have a problem with the file system or with permissions. Use Disk Utility's "Verify Disk" check to see if it finds any file system problems & if it does follow the instructions to reboot to repair them. Once any file system issues have been eliminated, run Disk Utility's "Repair Permissions" step. (Apple recommends doing this while booted normally.)
