I agree on Skype or Viber or any other application for free calls. My problem I have a valid sim card installed still i am not able to making calls from my iPad Mini due to absents of a proper dial pad. How can I install it and which is the best free app for a dial pad?

Read KiltedTim's post. The reason there is no dial pad is because the iPad is NOT a phone, it is a tablet.

You can make calls using FaceTime Audio, or via your iPhone if you have one. To do so, you need to open Contacts, select the contact and then tap the phone icon.

I'm confused! Didn't you read my earlier post? You can make calls from your ipad. You need to use a voip app. Look for one in the app store. They're like flowers in the spring. Too many to type here.

You cannot use the cellular voice network. The answer is no. Cellular services hence iPhones have two networks. One for voice and a second network for data. The twain doesn't meet. The ipad only supports the data network. It's a hardware thing.

You need to use the cellular data network. This mean you use a VOIP app. Get one. See above. I use VOIP all the time on my iPhone 4 to make long distance calls.

In the area of computers, you have to be careful what question you ask.

Can I make a cell phone call from my iPad?

No. Is a totally correct answer -- because you include the word cell in your question, but totally a narrow answer. You can make calls from you ipad, they're just not cell calls they're voip calls. To you the user it will not make any difference. I call people all the time over voip and the callee doesn't know the difference.

You can't. It is NOT a phone. What part of that is unclear?
