Q: Moving itunes library from cloud storage

Computer 1 (Windows 7) died. Luckily, I had backed up everything to cloud storage. Now I would like to get my itunes library from the cloud to computer 2 (Windows 7). I can go to the cloud storage and download the music file (C:/Users/Computer1/Music/iTunes) to computer 2's desktop. At this point I am not sure how to proceed to get everything that was on computer 1's iTunes file into computer 2's iTunes file..

    Hi bowcastle,

So it sounds as if you have the entire iTunes music library from your old computer copied onto your desktop, but iTunes is not recognizing it yet. Probably when you open iTunes it comes up with an empty library or a library with only the music that was originally on the new computer. Is this correct?

So what we need to do now is tell iTunes where to look for its new library. Fortunately this is pretty easy to do. The process is described in this article -

iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one - Apple Support

Once you get the dialog, select "Choose Library..." and then point it to the library on your desktop.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Sincerely,
