Are there any adware or browser issues that may prompt you to go elsewhere or download

unwanted products or questionable software? -- Please describe the visible and functional

issues of what is wrong so we can more directly offer suggestions more accurately than a

guesswork method that takes time and may resolve nothing.

If there are Safari browser extensions or adware popups, etc or re-directs to other sites that

you did not want to go to, that is something that can be fixed. Does not involve spyware, &

    there is no viri involved.

If your computer is still running OS X 10.6.8 or Snow Leopard, some recent advice may vary

from that given a user of later OS X version. However 'thesafemac' site has good info for

use in most any version of Mac, the more manual removal methods are good for old OS X

as the later 'adware medic' tool offered that could help may be too new for 10.6.8.

Anyway, hopefully the issue is a matter of identifying the culprit and removing the same.

With more information about what you are seeing, and the other details lacking in your

post, someone could offer more exacting advice to help resolve the problem.

    Good luck & happy computing!
