Upgrade 128 kbps m4p

Hi there

Is it possible to upgrade old low-quality DRMed purchases from the iTunes store to the higher quality unprotected versions now available? I seem to remember when Apple moved from protected to unprotected many years ago I had an email inviting me to upgrade (but I didn't) so I think it used to be....

Thanks

EW99,

For a time, Apple offered the ability upgrade those old DRM songs for a price of 30 cents a track. That program ended in 2012.

Now, to do the upgrade, you can subscribe to iTunes Match, and subject to availability, download non-protected versions in AAC 256. See this document:

...particularly the section on "Some DRM tracks can be upgraded to iTunes Plus"
