I dropped my iphone 5c in water and put it in rice and now the touch screen doesn't work.

Yesterday my cousin knocked my phone into a pool and it was in there for seconds so it was still on when we pulled it out. so we put it in rice the second we got home and left it in there over night. When I woke up this morning, I tried to turn it on and nothing came up except the charging screen. When it was past dead, nothing would come on. It was simply black. So we put it in rice for a few more hours and charged it. The screen will come on but I can't use the touch screen. What should I do?

The recommended time to leave it in rice is 5 to 7 days with a couple of changes of rice during that time.

Since you have now damaged it be turning it on while it was still wet, make an appointment to have Apple examine it. They will most likely sell you an out of warranty replacement for it now that you damaged it.

1) You didn't mention turning it off when you pulled it out of the water. If you didn't, that pretty much guaranteed it will never work again.

2) One day is not enough to leave it in rice.
