Family Share info

I am new to this apple thing. I switched from Android to Apple lol .

Anyways I am trying to setup the family share but its asking for my credit card info. I dont have a problem providing it but my daughter had apple first and she has a gift card balance on her account. I was reading that by doing the family share when someone goes and make a purchase its going to ask for permission if its set that way. I guess my question is once I setup the family share will me daughter lose her gift card balance? if not then before making a purchase does it ask if you want to use the gift card or credit card?

I am extremely excited with my new iPhone 6 plus and looking forward to using it.

Hello cowboys2048,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see you have some questions regarding Family Sharing and billing. From what you are saying, it sounds like you are setting it up with yourself as the "family organizer". As such, you will be asked for the credit card info for all purchase made within the Family Sharing group. If an individual has a gift card to their account, purchases that individual makes will be deducted from the gift card prior to charging the credit card. Additionally, no others will be able to charge to that personse gift card.
