Q: Can you delay autoplay of a movie in iDVD?
Hello all. I am pretty new to iDVD, as I just bought an old copy of it and installed it to my iMac for burning movies to DVD for the car player. I've run into common errors (hello, multiplex error!) but have been able to work through those and have successfully created 3 burns so far.
Here is my question. Is there a way to set a movie to play automatically AFTER the menu has been looped for a specified amount of times? I created some cool menus and I want those to display when the DVD is initially loaded in the player. However, if the menu loops 3 or 4 times, I'd like to set the movie to start playing automatically. With my projects' current settings, the menu will just keep looping over and over until you physically press Enter on the menu button that starts the movie. Since the screen in the front of the car goes inactive when the car is in motion, this presents a problem if you insert a DVD anytime other than while you are in park, because I am unable to physically make that selection. With most factory made DVDs, the movies will start automatically if the menu loops more than 2 or 3 times, and that is what I am trying to accomplish here.
I know about the AutoPlay feature in iDVD, but I believe that starts the movie automatically when you initially load it into the player, and I want the menu to start instead of doing that. Plus, one of the main reasons that I bought iDVD was so that I could add chapters to movie files that did not already have them, and I don't believe that I can do that with a movie that has been placed in the iDVD AutoPlay frame.
Any help would be appreciated!
