Q: Imac sound like is starting but during sleeping mode

Hy everyone.

Since a couple of months my Imac do this sound like it'll start (sound from components and ventilation..nothing from the speakers)

...

but he is in sleeping mode. And i don't want the processor to work during this mode, it consume energy and does this noise who start to turn me mad.

Now I know that there is some task who keeps running during tha sleeping mode but something who need to much energy  seams to work and I don't know what it is. Any idea ?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

    Hello Rene,

It sounds like you are concerned that there may be processes running on your Mac when it is sleeping causing the fans to continue to spin. That may very well be the case with the Power Nap feature if your computer supports it. You can turn that off in the System Preferences:

How Power Nap works on your Mac

Turn Power Nap on or off

The Power Nap setting is in the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences.

    Desktop computers
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Energy Saver. Use the "Enable Power Nap" checkbox to turn Power Nap on or off. The default setting is on if your desktop Mac uses flash storage (not including Fusion Drive).

If not or the issue persists then I would next reset the SMC on your computer:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    All the very best,
