Q: Movies in iPhoto no longer play.

I have a early 2008 IMAC.  Several months ago, I updated to Mavericks.  Recently I noticed that movies in iPhoto no longer play.  A popup screen say to update to ilife'11.  I can not find ilife'11 in the app store.  How do I update iPhoto so that downloaded movies, videos taken on my phone will play in iPhoto again.

Movies that I have downloaded from my 35mm SLR play fine in iPhoto.  I'm using 9.5.1.  Not sure what the iLife Suite has to do with it.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:

    • what system are you running?
    • what version of iPhoto are you using?
    • what do you see in the iPhoto window when you connect your camera or memory card?
    • what fixes have you tried?
    • where is your library located?
    • are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    • how much free space on your boot drive?
    • if you select a movie thumbnail and use the File ➙ Show in Finder ➙ Original File menu option are you taken to the folder where the original movie file is located and is it already selected?
