On its website, Apple states that the Apple Watch comes with an IPX7 rating, which makes the smartwatch splash and water resistant, but not exactly waterproof.
If that is not clear enough then Apple clearly states in the user guide that the following may affect the water resistance of Apple Watch and should be avoided:

That's a very common thing. People register just to leave snarky, rude or just highly critical posts that are years old. Seems like a silly hobby to me but people probably say that about knitting, too.
Apple recommends that you do not:
Important handling information
Exposure to liquid Apple Watch is water resistant but not waterproof. You may, for example, wear and use Apple Watch during exercise (exposure to sweat is OK), in the rain, and while washing your hands. If water splashes on to the watch, wipe it off with a nonabrasive, lint-free cloth. Try to minimize exposing Apple Watch to these substances and follow the instructions below in the “Cleaning and care” section if Apple Watch comes into contact with them:
• Soap, detergent, acids or acidic foods, and any liquids other than fresh water, such as salt water, soapy water, pool water, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, sunscreen, oil, adhesive remover, hair dye, or solvents.
Submerging Apple Watch is not recommended. Apple Watch has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. The leather bands are not water resistant. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and Apple Watch cannot be rechecked or resealed for water resistance. The following may affect the water resistance of Apple Watch and should be avoided:
I agree with Meg on this one. Also, while some people might like to wear their watch in a steam room or sauna, I find it best to switch to a standard water proof watch, or better yet, to just not wear one at all. And some I believe also have stereos built into them as well. Sure they might not be compatible with any Apple product out there. But, most come with a remote that is sweat proof and heat resistant that you can take into them with you.
Also, if you need to know the time, I'd just place a clock outside where it can be seen through the window if need be. Besides, nothings worse than destroying your watch due to heat.

Would have been better just to remove the entire post.
I would also bet he isn't trolling boards looking to leave snarky replies either.
So if it isn't for snarky replies why are you trolling the boards?
I, unlike you, was actually looking for an answer to a question.
And what was your question?
