Aren't keywords applied to every selected image?

Hi,

I select several images and only the first one selected gets the keyword applied to it. This is something new for me. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi Kirby,

Since Aperture is no longer available to select as category, I use this old discussion to ask a question:

RAW vs tiff when adjusting images:

Imagine a RAW file was adjusted then converted to a tiff.

If I were to go back to that image for further adjustments, would I be afforded the same adjustment latitude regardless of which pf the 2 files I worked with?

Thanks,

Raphael

Thank you Ernie. That's good news.

Following Aperture's demise, I migrated my files seamlessly to Adobe Lightroom. Consequently, for each adjusted file in Aperture, I ended up with a RAW file + a tiff of the adjusted file. Files adjusted for screen viewing are usually not adjusted enough when it comes to printing them.

Consequently, I wanted to know whether I would save myself some time in LR starting from the tiff, instead of from the RAW should a gallery ask for a print of a new image.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

a) ... not from which to print but ... from which to continue adjusting? Any thoughts?

b) my APL went from 79 GB to 105 GB - that's barely a 30% increase in size; pretty good considering I am being handed my life again. And ... compared to Lightroom's power and capabilities, Aperture, of which I was - and still am, very fond, feels like a horse and buggy. And very long ago.

I was very much against Lightroom. Now, I am excited about all the things that can be done with and through Lightroom. Apple's move turned out a blessing in disguise for me. Of course, I had to subscribe to Lynda.com - but that's another great discovery.

When we live with all Apple software, we live blissfully - but in a bubble apparently.

I think any well adjusted photo can usually be beneficially further tweaked, whether in TIFF, or even JPEG.

Glad you have found LR to be good for you, but in my case, a lossless 16 bit TIFF from my full frame 36 Mega Pixel cameras creates a TIFF file in the range or 250 MB compared to only 45 MB for the original RAW. The majority of my 130,000 images are large RAW files. I just went to a 6 TB TBolt drive for my Aperture Library. Not sure how I would host the same for LR.

Also, last time I checked LR was missing some things I really like, such as finding and displaying my Focus point and Managed Library on a dedicated volume. But I am sure I could get used to it if I could get past the library migration.
