Q: Manage 2nd Mac computer in home

Purchased a new iMac, would still want to use my first iMac.  How do I set it up so I am not receiving emails that will pile up, make it a family computer in the family room to use in Family Sharing?

iPhone 5s, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), downloaded iOS 7.0.2

    Hey angieprivitt,

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you do not want the original Mac to receive emails any longer. You do want to use it with Family Share. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

Mail (Yosemite): Set up Mail with your email accounts

    Remove an account

When you remove an email account from Mail, the account’s messages are deleted and no longer available on your Mac. Copies of messages remain on the account’s mail server and are still available (from webmail, for example).

Important:   If you’re unsure whether messages you want to keep are still on the mail server, move or copy them into a mailbox stored on your Mac (the mailbox appears in the On my Mac section in the Mail sidebar) before you delete the account in Mail.

    1. Choose Mail > Preferences, then click Accounts.

    2. Select an account, then click Remove .

You want to make sure you are signed in to iCloud with a family Apple ID for Family Sharing to work. Maybe not the organizer ID if you want to use ask to buy.

Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support

In OS X Yosemite on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Have a good one,

    Mario
