Error "Cannot process request. Please try again later"

I have been getting the same error message for a week and a half now. It says "iTunes cannot process your request. Please try again later". I get this error message after I click "Buy" and am brought to a screen to update my account info. When I click "Done" this error message keeps coming up. Is anyone else getting this message and do you know what I can do? I have contacted itunes customer support every day and have not received ANY help from them. I want to return my ipod since I can't even use it with itunes.

Well I don't know exactly who you have contacted, but you need to email the store at the link below by filling out the email form at the bottom of the page.

Don't email everyday, email once and wait up to 2 days to give them time to get to your email and reply to you. Multiple emails to them will only complicate things and make the process longer

I kept getting that message. This is the reply I received from Apple....

1) Make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes.

2) Open iTunes and sign in to the iTunes Store, if necessary.

3) Choose Check for Purchases from the Advanced menu. Enter your account name and password, then click Check. The missing item should begin downloading and appear in your Purchased playlist.

If you receive an error message while downloading, try again after turning off any firewall or web-accelerator software that you may have installed.

If the download process is interrupted for any reason, it should resume once you reopen iTunes.

This article provides information about resuming interrupted downloads:

If you don't see the item even when you select Library in the Source list, please reply to this email and include this information:

- The name of your Internet service provider (ISP)
- The type of Internet connection (such as dial-up, cable modem, or DSL)
- Any troubleshooting steps you may have taken
- Any error messages you may have received

Hope that helps! I used the support page to contact them. I emailed on Tuesday and they replied yesterday (thursday).

Same here. However, I am on a iMac trying to buy a song. Does exactly as you have described and I can not determine any problems with my account information. Same results when I tried their iTunes Support people. No real help or any ideas I hadn't already tried.

I wonder what it is about the new release that is causing this to occur. Anybody else with the same problem?

This may be a separate problem, but I was having problems getting past the iTunes Store thinking I had something wrong with my billing information. Couldn't download any music, songs or albums.

I'm pleased to say, it has now been resolved. I emailed iTunes Tech support and didn't take their "canned" responses for an answer, since I had already done everything they suggested in them! I kept emailing back until I got past the "standard" replies!! Finally, on the third email, I think I might have actually gotten a human being that read the problem and replied. They bumped my problem up a level of support.

Today, I received a reply that my iTunes account billing information had been "reset". I followed their directions and logged in, re-entered everything, as if it was the first time I had been on iTunes, and can now download music again!

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! Be persistent. It will pay off with this specific problem.
