Jun 8, 2015 11:48 PM in response to VikingOSXby fuxAY,I have tried this also, but unfortunately it doesn't work. The issue is that the default is hidden files ON rather than be hidden.

Jun 9, 2015 2:45 AM in response to fuxAYby VikingOSX,You didn't specify what Terminal commands that you used previously in an attempt to override the hidden file condition. Use the following, which disables visible hidden files. It just worked for me. No need to logout or reboot.
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 0
killall Finder

Jun 9, 2015 4:18 AM in response to VikingOSXby fuxAY,I have used the command you posted including variations of it (eg. False, No). I have also used the command killall Finder, but this causes the preferences file (com.apple.finder.plist) to revert back to how it was before the command was executed. Reboot has been the only successful method in order for the Terminal command to toggle hidden files on/off. Unfortunately this still has no affect on the hidden files being shown in the open/save dialog box.
It may be worth noting that I am using a German keyboard with Region set as Austria (language set as English). I am not sure if this has an effect on the keyboard commands you mentioned in a previous post.
