I can not load a CD

(hint: if you're having a problem it might help to explain what the problem is, what you've tried, and what happens when you do. As it stands, for all I know you don't HAVE any CDs and that's why you can't load them, but I suspect that's not what you're posting about...)
When insert the CD it sounds like it is starting to run, then it ejects. I uploaded a CD a few months back with no problems. Tried a DVD with no problems

Have you tried more than one CD? Maybe your one CD is now defective.
yes I tried more than one. sorry about the double post this is all new to me.
There two separate lasers in the optical drive, one for the DVDs and one for the CDs. There is a chance the one used for CDs is dirty, or it may be defective. You might want to try using a CD cleaner:
