About DVD+R

While doing research I found stuff that I didn't know or think about it in the past.

Apparently DVD+R is better than DVD-R. I've read several sources (I never rely on one source only). So OK, it is better but I'm wondering: is there a possibility that in the future they will cease to do it (as it happened with Beta vs VHS) and I might have problem playing it in a future computer or DVD recorder? (Assuming I have to replace the electronics I have now).

I already know the answer: NO! My guess is that even if they cease to do it the manufacturer will continue to make their DVD recorder/player or computer compatible.

But I like your opinion. My computer tells me I can WRITE both format. (So I assume that it can also READ both format, LOL).

But I post mostly for this:

"Is there anything I should know before I switch? I need to buy blank DVD's so this switch will happen this week.
