Q: Screensaver defaults on its own, help?

I set my screensaver to show photos from a folder on my desktop, but when I wake my computer up after one cycle, it defaults back to the National Geographic photos.  How do I stop that from happening?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

You could try 'repair disk permissions' in Disk Utility, on the boot volume

that does not have the hard drive brand on it, re: Macintosh HD.

•About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature - Apple Support

Sometimes, a start-up in Safe mode followed by the repair disk permission

in Disk Utility can help with some kinds of user issues. Also, there may be

a pile of Console logs in the OS X from that incident, though they are hard

to understand like a foreign language, and may cause undo anxiety.

•Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support

Or if you have more than one user account, try starting in the second user.

Then, login or restart in the main user. - And if you have your own images

for desktop background in the computer, try them, too. You can direct the

System Preference> Desktop/Screensaver to select from almost any folder.

My image folders are not stored in or on Desktop in any of my user accounts.

    In any event...

    Good luck & happy computing!
