THe wireless keyboard to my iMac will not turn on. I changed the batteries, held the button for three seconds (many times), but no go. To test to see if it was on I would hit the caps lock button, and it won't light. I went to the online Apple store to buy another, but in "requirements" it indicated that I need a keyboard to set up the new one.

Thanks for the link, RK, but new batteries in correctly, and I am unable to turn on the keyboard. No lights at all. I just ordered a new keyboard. I am writing to you from my iPad Mini. I do appreciate your effort.
Okay, the machine is not covered by AppleCare?? If it is then your keyboard would be covered.

If you have an Apple store nearby, I'd suggest taking it in to see if they can figure out the problem - maybe they'd give you a new one (you could then return the one you ordered for a refund). I'd think it's at least worth a try.
Thanks, Babowa, but the keyboard just died on me. It was probably five years old, and I recently moved, so it may have gotten beat up a bit.
I went to the Apple store online, ordered another one, and it was delivered today. I am using it now. Thanks for helping.
