Q: Why did Remote Desktop Client update automatically when i don't have it ?

I noticed that an update for Remote Desktop Client was downloaded on to my computer on May 19th,  i was not aware i had it and i did not notice the update, i did a spotlight search but Remote Desktop Client,the result was blank.

iMac (24-inch Early 2009), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

    It was a recent update/download. If you had automatic upgrades and automatic install set for App Store preferences, then that is why. It was not served as an optional download.

    The Remote Desktop Client is installed on all Mac computers.  It's not for you to remote out to another computer, its for a remote administrator to remote into your computer.  It's normal to receive updates to it and doesn't pose a threat to your computer unless you activate remote management in the Sharing pane of System Preferences.
