Q: WiFi drops - anyone else?
Hi all
I know there are lots of posts about WiFi dropping but I haven't found anyone asking quite the same thing. I have tried the various solutions online to no avail.
For me, I'll be browsing the web and suddenly I'll click a link and it won't load. Chrome states "Resolving host".
I've checked and ping isn't working either - I'll ping 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS server) and get no response (timed out).
To resolve it, I turn off my WiFi from the menu bar, and turn it straight back on. Then connectivity is restored immediately.
I have this problem no matter which router I connect to (I have two in my house which helps for testing). Tried fixed IP, manual DNS entries, new "Location" etc etc. Even tried changing some router settings such as channel or encryption type.
I'm at a loss as to whether this is a software problem, or a hardware problem that I should get resolved under warranty (runs out in August). Unfortunately I only had the laptop a short time before I upgraded to Yosemite and I don't remember if I had the problem before I did so.
It drives me crazy, I at least have the workaround but in some browsing sessions I'm turning my WiFi on and off every 10 minutes. I shouldn't have to do this on a £1600 laptop.

Thank you for any replies/pointers or "me too" responses. It will help me decide what I need to do.
