Install script error iTunes 7.0 upgrade problem

Trying to upgrade to iTunes 7.0 During the installation I get the following error:

The Install script engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the lastest version of ISScript.msi or contact your support personnel for further assistance.

I have tried version 7, 8 and 9 of the ISScript.msi and get the same message with each. Has anyone else come across this problem? How did you solve it?

okay, let's try installing a version 11, using the instructions from the following InstallShield document:

Update to the Latest InstallShield Installation Engines

is that one of any help with the error message?

🙂 excellent. glad you're up and running again, suz.

that should be the last time you need an InstallShield engine for an itunes install. the 7.0.x installers aren't actually InstallShield-based ... but previous versions were, so it was called on for the uninstall for the previous version here. now the previous versions are gone, you won't have to worry about this again.
