Jun 10, 2015 3:39 AM in response to wickstr67by OGELTHORPE,What do the Panasonic instructions say? They should have appropriate connection cables available. Usually a USB connection will be used on the MBP.
Ciao.

Jun 10, 2015 8:59 AM in response to Phil0124by wickstr67,We tried using the USB connection and it didn't register on the MAC - I assumed it was older technology for the MAC, and that's why I thought I needed to get a Firewire cable to connect them. Any suggestions as to why it wouldnt show up when using the USB?

Jun 10, 2015 10:12 AM in response to wickstr67by OGELTHORPE,I do not see any instructions for Mac compatibility in this PDF, only for a PC. I suggest you determine first if it is or can be made Mac compatible.

Jun 10, 2015 10:30 AM in response to wickstr67by Phil0124,★HelpfulSeveral more Google searches reveal this Camcorder requires drivers/software, even through firewire.
It does not look like you can actually plug it into a Mac and have it be recognized. Maybe a PC, if you find the drivers for it.
If you saved your videos to the SD Card, you may be able to transfer them directly from it, but not through the Camcorder.

Jun 10, 2015 11:36 AM in response to Phil0124by wickstr67,Thanks Phil0124 - I will look around to see if I can get the drivers/software - I don't have the original disc it came with - but that could be the problem, I have an old PC and will try using the USB on that - the video is on the tape, with this Camcorder - not the SD Card, it only records to tape. I was just hoping there was a firewire to thunderbolt option available for me
thanks again

Jun 10, 2015 11:50 AM in response to wickstr67by Phil0124,★HelpfulWell, there is a firewire to TB adapter:

But no way to know if its actually going to work. You can always return the adapter within 14 daystar a full refund if it doesn't though.

Jun 10, 2015 1:05 PM in response to Phil0124by wickstr67,Ok great, thanks - I will try the USB connection on my PC tonight, if that doesn't work, then I will go and purchase the adapter you mentioned and give that a try - one of them has to work right?
thanks again!
