Q: I am looking for a replacement for Aperture Books.

I use aperture books as a simple way of doing up school photography forms.

My book template is based on A4 sheet sizes.

I place a PDF as a background image and have a suitably positioned picture box for the sample photo.

The PDF contains all the pricing information and other required details.

I create enough pages to contain all images. 1 page per image.

The images automatically flow into the picture boxes.

As each image is placed it displays the file name.

The ability to flow in new/unused images is also essential.

Print the book to a laser printer, Job Done!

Really simple.

Can any one recommend an application that can do the above in an elegant fashion?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

What is wrong with using Aperture while you still are able - if you stay on Mavericks you can use it indefinitely.

Nothing is wrong with that but it does not address my question!

Aperture is still working under 10.10.3 for the moment and of course I will continue to use it but I would not like to be restricted to a particular OS for the sake of one feature in one program. Particularly when an updated OS can mean more efficient use of computing resources as looks to be the case in forthcoming update this autumn.

I am doing research into future possibilities.
