Hi,

Do you mean the right hand side of the window has no text ?

And the left hand side list has no preview of the last Message ?

Or do you mean that when you start a new chat with someone you have connected to before the "History" does not show ?

HI,

Open the Font Book app and check that Helvetica Neue, Lucida Grande and AppleGothic are all present (the last one appears new the bottom of the list).

They should also not be duplicated and should Validate (File Menu).

Hi,

Can you open the Contacts App and go to the Preferences > Accounts.

It should be using one account to sync with other devices.

Hi,

It is one of the quirks we have discovered.

For iMessages to display linked to the same people on different devices then the Contacts App needs to sync to all the devices using the same Account.

Nominally this is expected to be iCloud, enabled in System Preferences > iCloud and the box for Contacts.

However it seems that many people also use a mixture or of services and can enable the Contacts App for syncing in System Preferences > Internet Accounts for Google, Yahoo, AIM even, plus possible Linkedin or others.

This can means the Contacts app is trying to sync several Address books and this is known to cause a problem.

Also do you mean it is your iCloud Email/Apple ID that is listed ?

Or do you mean it is enabled for your iCloud ID and a separate email ?

Hi,

As I said it is one of those things we have found out.

The Contacts app in relation to working with the Messages app so that messages sync across devices and display properly prefers to have only one active Account.

The presumption is at the moment that the iMessages are on the computer, just not displayed.

As the Thread started with one option is that the Apple Gothic Font is not active.

As to why ...

At any time any file can become corrupt.

It is about spotting when this happens, trying to find a cause if it happens to many people and finding a fix or a workaround.

I am reading you post that there are two active accounts in the Contacts app ?
