Key board is flashing green but not connecting to my iMac

My iMac is three months old. It works with Yosemite. I switched it on today and the keypad would not work. The green light is and has been flashing for about 2 hours now. At first the icon for logging on appeared. As i cannot use the keyboard I could not put in the password. I have tried to restart several times.

I have also now switched it off and on several times. It says I should wait for the keyboard and screen to pair but i have waited an hour now and nothing has happened.

What else should I do?
