Q: Target Display mode - Mini Displayport
I have a Imac 27" mid 2010 and a Macbook Pro Ratina early 2015.
I would like to use my iMac as an external monitor through target display mode. The employee of the Apple store said that this is not possible as my Thunderbolt could not connect with my iMac through a mini display port cable.
I've been reading at other forums similar cases but nothing could answer my question directly. Is this combination possible? If so, i found this cable on the internet. Would this work out? https://www.alza.cz/EN/premiumcord-mini-displayport-propojovaci-stineny-2m-d4701 49.htm#recenze
Thanks!
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Guess this would already solve the issue?
OS X Mountain Lion: Use another Mac as a display
Use a 27-inch iMac with a Mini DisplayPort as a display
If you have a 27-inch iMac with a Mini DisplayPort, any other Mac with a Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt port can use it as a display. Make sure you have a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable.
