    Greetings Sree87,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that when you try to answer a second call when you are already speaking to someone, the first call gets disconnected when you answer the second.

The attached article below explains the expected process for placing a call on hold and answering the second line.

    https://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf

If you are completing these steps and the issue still happens, please let me know.

Respond to a second call. You can:

    • Ignore the call and send it to voicemail: Tap Ignore.

    • Put the first call on hold and answer the new one: Tap Hold + Accept.

    • End the first call and answer the new one: When using a GSM network, tap End + Accept. With a CDMA network, tap End and when the second call rings back, tap Accept, or drag the slider if iPhone is locked.

    Cheers,

    Joe

    Hello Sree87,

If you are not seeing Call Waiting under Settings > Phone it sounds like you may be using an iPhone on a CDMA carrier network.
