My phone is set to US as a region, my iTunes account is in the US. What did I not do?
Are you physically in the U.S.?

Jun 10, 2015 3:30 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby patinchch,Yes, sure am. I don't live here, but run all my devices as though I do. No problem with Applepay on phone, or anything else. Have US credit/debit cards loaded, but just not there on watch, or watch app. I'm sure its something to do with being an undesirable alien, but can't figure out how they know....

I should hope not! You seem like a perfectly nice alien.
Ok, that's weird. Have you tried unpairing the watch and re-pairing?

Jun 10, 2015 7:22 PM in response to G3gatorby patinchch,Ok - it was interesting. I un-paired the watch, and then decided to try to re-pair using the backup copy taken at un-pairing. I didn't expect this to make any difference, figuring it would just push back the problem. But no - it did work! I can now see the apple pay option in the watch app. I cannot explain it. But I'm OK with that...there's lots of things I can't explain.
Thanks folks for your suggestions and interest.
