Brand New ipod shuffle gen4 won't play back content after sync with iTunes on MacBook Pro. In iTunes I hit play, content opens

Brand New ipod shuffle gen4 won't play back content after sync with iTunes on MacBook Pro. In iTunes I hit play, content opens & quits; with new headphones, no response. Same issue just recently with 2 previous shuffles & why I bought new replacement. Must be software, but why …?

BTW it's NOT a headphone issue! Switching headphones works for some issues, not for this.

If you can't play the files in iTunes on your computer, then I would guess the issue is with the file, not the iPod. Can you test this with a downloaded or created file that you positevely know is not corrupted and in compatible format (for example, a track that plays just fine on your desktop, before being imported to iTunes?
