How do I disable Print Queue?

How do I stop the Print Queue dialogue box from popping up continuously as I print and displaying notifications?

I do not need to know that the printer is connected, the print job is completed, and so on. I know how to select the Print Queue and will do so manually if necessary. I do not want it to pop up automatically all day.

This is not unique to my current printer but common to the way Yosemite (and OS X) manages printers.

I am running Yosemite v10.10. and a Canon 5400 series printer.
